• Arms of love

Inspired by “God loves you” by Jaci Velasquez, introduced to me by Katrina Quillen, and this song has really helped me heal from wounds. I was currently writing a paper about how I have been wounded, so I’ve been crying a lot recently.

I want to be held as I lay awake looking at the stars
I long to be embraced by the arms of love
As my eyes gaze into yours
I see a love inviting me to come
A love so deep and so wide that it will simply wrap itself around me

In the arms of love I cry myself to asleep
In the arms of grace, with tears streaming down my face
Arms of love gently hold me, Arms of love wipe away my past
Arms of love I need you to hold me, My tears have left me feeling lonely
As I cry and my eyes are welling up, it is then I feel your arms of love

Every tear that I cry and with every tear that is shed
I hear you whisper I love you my child
I don’t want to see you hurt my son
I want you to allow me to take away your pain
My arms of love are open, and my arms of love are ready

I try to express my heart, and all I seem to get is hurt
Now that I’ve found where I belong
Wrapped in your arms of love
Wiping away tears from my weary eyes
As I rest in your arms of love

I cry myself to sleep because I don’t understand the measure
Of the arms of love that are gently holding me
Your arms of love gently sustain me
Your arms of love have been open all along
I didn’t know that you wanted me to reach out and grab it

  • Love is reaching

I want to grab a hold of love
I know its reaching and I want to embrace it
Love is reaching into the deepest depths of my heart
It makes it so hard sometimes when your hands can’t close
Bawling like a baby, reaching out for something

    Love has rescued me
    Love has captured my heart
Gently holding me in my savior’s arms
whispering I want to hold you my child
I want to ease away your pain

All I ask is for you to let me
take away your pain my child
You’ve been holding on to your hurt
for so long, I know you don’t know what it means to give it to me
I want to help you heal, I want to help take away your pain

I beg for you to come to the cross
See the wounds touch my scars
Tears of love I cried for you
I am asking you to let go of your pain
    Give me your all
