I tend to push things aside if they get in our way
We all tend to push hands away if they try to touch us
I have trouble pushing myself out of the way when it gets in God’s way
I try to hold on to every safe guard that I’ve created because I wanted to feel safe

All my selfish desires I push aside
All my selfish pride I push aside
All my sinful practices I push aside
All the things that don’t please you; I push aside

I know that there are obstacles in my life that have kept me from you
I seem to run into them more and more each day
Rather than push them aside I use them as excuses
Rather than give you my life I seem to hide behind it

Everything that has kept me from you
Everything that has kept me from seeing you
I push it aside and run into your arms
I can see you when I look for you
