Collide

So many walls around me; I thought they would protect me
So many rooms that I have created; thinkin’ to myself no one will ever see
So many places in my life where my sin hides; knowin’ that it needs to collide with truth
So many compartments, excuses, selfish ambitions, and hopeless dreams reside

At the cross; the light collides with my sin; a beautiful collision
At the cross; a dark man on the inside; as white as snow; yet covered by your blood
At the cross; a fallen man who found out what it means to let sin collide;
At the cross; you invite me to come; to be your child;

I don’t know why I live in the dark; I guess it was all I knew
Til I made the decision to bring my sin out into the light;
I lived as a child of the world; You have ransomed my life on Calvary
I am now your child; I am asking you to collide; break down these walls

I realized that the walls that I created; had trapped me on the inside
I could see out but refused to let anyone come in
I felt my sin close in around me; and it trapped my soul; You have freed me
A life of victory; a life of liberty; a life of freedom; a life of peace that you offer

I used to like to live my life in isolation;
I used to say to myself; it’s better, it’s better this way;
You have invited me to a life of community; made me a part of your family
You told me that I belong to you; as I let my sin collide with the cross
