Not your Cinderella Catherine Britt
When I was growing up, my momma always told me it would turn out alright
So as I sat through the stories, watched the Disney movies that’s all I ever knew
Like a fairytale capturing my heart when I was growing up
Like a bubble escaping from a wand waiting to be popped, my view of reality
I knew we always could make more, and replace the ones that popped
I was taught whenever it rained there would be a rainbow somewhere
Times have changed since I was growing up,
Life has jaded my childlike view of the world
Every twist and every turn met me with a challenge
A chance to step out in faith out of the familiar
So if you’re looking for your knight in shining armor; he’s out there somewhere
Hope you come to realize that life doesn’t always hand you daisies
When you wake up sometimes it ain’t gonna smell like coffee
You may have to kiss many frogs to find your prince
Trusting in God will get you through the forest
Believing God’s promises will help light the path
Two paths that you can take; the narrow and the wide
Both ways have there rocks, but God will carry you through
A fairytale ending is not far off for you if you know the one who wrote your story
People tryin’ to discourage you along the way; don’t listen to their lies
It may not turn out the way you had planned, but it will be turn out right
You don’t have to write it to understand; it’s already been written for you
