We’ve all been there before, things happen out of our control.
Let’s make a plan, we can make it work.
Let’s write a song, about how life has screwed us over.
Looking for the good, even when our plans get thwarted.
Let’s write a story, of how we want our lives to turn out.
Let’s write a narrative, that flies in the face of society.
If we’re honest with each other, would we try to end it happy.
We tend to shy away from hurt, we try to hide the painful moments.
I don’t know about you, but we don’t have to know the plan.
We serve a God who already knows the ending, and the steps along the way.
If we want to write our own story, it will come out with pages missing.,
If we don’t follow the master plan, we may miss something important.
I can’t see the whole picture, because my story is still being written.
Like working on a ever changing puzzle, we think we see the end.
Pieces still missing, pieces are broken, like a vase that shows it’s cracks.
Should I put it together on my own, or look to the One who knows the ending.
God has all the pieces, and sometimes He uses heartache to bring us to our knees.
He knows what He’s doing, when it comes to piecing our broken lives back together.
Every crack that shows, He allows and will fix as we trust His promises.
We could write our own book, but mine would not include the pain, the hurt, the betrayal of others.
We only see part of the picture, and even then it’s foggy.
We look in the mirror, but even that is broken and shattered.
Sometimes we want to put it back together the way we think it should be, not the way it is.
If we give the pieces to God as we receive them, life will turn out right because God knows what it’s going to look like.
