So many times we get wrapped up in what our world tries to offer
It’s like a mashup, a little of this and add that
A recipe for disaster if we leave you out of the small things
If we pretend that you don’t care about the small things
Teach me to see you in the small things
When you paint a picture in the sky, teach me to look up
The sky is red in the morning, and help me appreciate the sunrise
Lot’s of times I am tired at the end of the day and I then look for the sunset
Help me realize that you have me where I am for such a time as this
It’s hard for me to follow because we tend to doubt our leaders
I don’t get it all right all the time, and I don’t want to give that impression
You took my messed up life and redeemed it
In the small things you are real
You are real regardless of how I feel
The pictures you send me are those of love and grace
There are no messes when you have the brush
