In a manger

I never thought I would have all I need laying in a manger
I never could’ve imagined a love that could flow from the cross for me
I know there is a purpose for pain and the struggles that I face
A debt paid and my redeeming grace

In a stable in Bethlehem
A star marked the site that my savior was born
Christmas is a time for celebration but also a time to remember
A price that was too high for me to ever pay

It’s hard for me to imagine what it must’ve been like
As the shepherds laying in the fields
Watching their sheep while waiting for their king
No idea what was happening until the angel told them

In a manger my Savior was laid
On the cross later my debt was paid in full
Jesus knew what was coming, but He chose to do it anyway
On the cross at Calvary, and laid in the tomb

He rose victorious from the grave
May we never forget the life he gave
It’s hard to understand and I know this for a fact
I never thought my Savior would be born in a manger
