Turn the tide

This world is a wilderness and my throat is dry and parched
This world isn’t as it should be, I mean before the fall of man
It’s hard for me to listen, because people have different intentions
It’s hard for me to comprehend the magnitude of your beauty

If this world is like it is because of the effects of sin
If this world was created to bring my God the glory
Why don’t we live like each day may be our last
Why don’t we live like each day may be a new beginning

So many thoughts that are competing for the space inside my head
The truth should always win, but sometimes the lies try to speak louder
There is freedom for the captives
There is hope for those who are close to giving up

It’s been a windy stretch my sails are torn
It’s been an exhausting ride, hoping for something to turn the tide
I don’t know what tomorrow is gonna hold
I don’t need to worry about what I am gonna wear
