Like a pop

I was resting in my bed/looking at the ceiling/what could possibly be wrong with me/when my heart was feeling heavy/when my mind was feeling over stimulated/when my soul was too tired to share/with my world spinning out of control/

I heard something/like a pop/one night had to make sure it wasn’t thunder/before I covered my head/had to make sure I had my door locked/would I wake up with something missing/would I drift back into a subconscious state/would this be my new reference point/

Sometimes we need something to wake us up/to remind us these emotions are real/what you’re feeling deep/may be scary at the moment/but after you have had time to process/when things were calm/before you came into my life/but I wouldn’t want it any other way/

You heard me in the night/you didn’t roll over and choose to ignore me/you told me that you missed me more/and that you wanted to be with me/something I needed to hear/but when I woke up in the morning/I realized the words were true/but we will see each other soon/
