A glorious celebration

I will sing to you because you have given me life
I will not let my past dictate my future any longer
On Calvary a mix of raw emotions, part of me responsible for putting you there
Easter morning, would I remember what you told me about your resurection

The stone that guarded the tomb was too big to move
The Romans had been assigned to watch
Your love was bigger, and shook the entire earth
Your word rang true then and the tomb was empty

A glorious celebration of life, it seems opposite of what was
A cross that bore my shame, my sin was covered by Jesus name
Even though I was guilty, you made me innocent
The evidence was stacked against me, but you gave me reason to celebrate

I know that I put you on the cross, and I should be the one on trial
You see me as clean and redeemed by your son
It’s been a rough time for me because I felt shame
You took my emptiness, and you filled my heart with joy
