No more

You have given me so much to be thankful for
If I were to make a list, it would stretch for miles
You answer my prayers, but sometimes the answer is not now
We tend to take that as a no

I look around at the mess this world is in
I know it can be attributed to sin
I can’t help but cry when another tragedy hits
We live in a fallen world

When will you come back, and take your people home?
Not now you tell me, and I know that doesn’t mean that you won’t
It’s hard to struggle, and see the sin that separates with a veil
Harder still to think that I was the one with the nail

Yet you love me just the same, it was to reconcile me to you
A cross to bridge the gap, so humanity wouldn’t need to suffer
The time will come, that you will show your face
We need to trust your not nows, and stop asking all the hows.

I know that it hurts you to see the world turn away
It’s easy to ask a question, when you know the answer
It’s harder though to get a not now
I couldn’t manage this craziness on my own
