There are times when my God feels so far away
Trying to understand that He wants me to come with Him and He’ll show me the steps
I know I have fallen and strayed from my Savior
You pick me up, dust me off, and carry me on your shoulders
Far away I try to keep you because I am afraid of you to find me,
I only know what I can see in front of me, and I know that sometimes I try to run
I know you will find me and help me see your love
Far away I feel and I forget that you want to hold me close
There are things that are scary going on in my mind right now
There are circumstances that have me worried about my future
There are times in my life when I feel all alone
Help me remember the cross and the love you have shown me
I know you are everywhere and I have heard that you care
But when I have fallen I don’t want to come back and find you
I know that I need your forgiveness, and I need your strength
Help me remember that you are close even when I feel far away
