Written as I was thinking about the promises that Jesus made to ALL his children, having trouble understanding why people pass away.
In the bible there are instances of your plan
In the bible you tell us that you love us, you showed it by dying on the cross
In the bible you give us answers, but my mind can’t comprehend them
In the bible you tell us that the weakest will be made strong
In the bible you remind us that you will never flood the earth; gave us a reminder
In the bible you remind us that you are faithful; never to be doubted
In the bible you remind us that you can calm the seas; do it in my stormy heart
In the bible you remind us that you are full of love; teach me what that looks like
When I am having trouble being patient; may I rest in your grace
When I am having trouble trusting you with the future; may I sleep in peace
When my mind is racing; help calm my anxious thoughts
When my mind is curious; provide me with gentle reminders of your love for me
I know you can walk on water; help me to see you and not the waves around me
I know you can make the blind see; please open my eyes as I learn to have faith
I know you can take away my pain; you’re with me when my heart is breaking
I know you will lead me; but sometimes I get scared and forget you know me
