So many things are different than they appear/and sometimes things get hidden and confusion arises/leaving me trying to reach for your hand/something to guide me/something I could trust/something that is real/something that is tangible/
Thoughts swimming around my mind/I wanted to hide my emotions/because I thought no one could ever understand/people sometimes push unhappy thoughts away/but you wanted to listen/because you care about my heart/even when I have nothing left/open my mouth and no words come out/
You whisper that you’re with me/when we take a walk/sometimes we cry together/other times are times of laughing/in the silence/I feel the safest/because I know my friend will never judge me/never try to hurt me/sometimes we disagree/but we don’t let that come between us/
I hear you say/you are awake/you are safe/you are proud of me/tears streaming down my face/buried your embrace/trying to speak/but you hold my heart/when I feel like letting go/you remind me that I am safe/and that we’ll see each other soon/that’s what keeps me going/
