Written as I found out my best friend had a break up.
Heartbreak is rough/healing goes in waves/there isn’t one size fits all/a common remedy that can be applied/like aloe on a sunburn/it’s going to peel and there are layers/the feelings of love/dissipating into sorrow and back again/mind is searching/for some type of normalcy/
I have had my heart torn apart as well/but everyone heals differently/I don’t have all the answers/but sometimes I can relate/sometimes an ear is what we need/to pierce through the silence/the noise deafening/the thoughts in your head swirling/like a hurricane out at sea/
Can’t really put a timeline/can’t really put a price/can’t assign a compartment to the feelings you encounter/loose ends hanging out/as you try to put the feelings in drawers/cupboard doors off their hinges/everything exposed and bare/when you attempt to take stock/your mind can get cluttered in the chaos/
If I could give you a step by step plan/about how to heal from a heartbreak/I think the book would sell/but there are so many different feelings/that go along with love/so many aspects of relationships that are left in the open/things you wanted to hide/now exposed to the elements/
