Trying to make the problem disappear only leaves us more frustrated than we were before
We tend to blame God for the struggles in our lives asking Him to take them away
I think the world’s got it wrong, I think its been too long since we asked the question “will you bring me through” and meant it
We ask God to work just the way we think it ought to be, but we often forget He works outside our reality
We question God when He gives us trials, and ask Him to take the pain away while He went through so much on the cross
I want to be filled with compassion, to join in suffering, I already came to grips that the highway is never easy
Teach me what it means to suffer with the needy, and show me what it means to join the desolate
A lot of times our circumstances dictate how we respond to different situations, and our first reaction is to take the pain away
I am bringing you a messed up, jacked up life and offer you it as it is right now
I realize that the pain you put me through will bring me through stronger, and closer to becoming more like you
You never waste my pain and you always have something to teach me
If I could change my heart to realize that the pain you suffered on the cross is so much more than the pain we face on Earth
Like a battered ship tossed in the wind, I ask not that you take away the storm, but I ask for your guidance to help me to calm down enough so I can see you within the storm
