May I ask you a question?

Written when my mind was a little afraid to ask tough questions.

My mind is filled with so many questions
I search for answers but forget what I ask before I am faced with another
Jesus why do you love me?
Jesus why do you care about me?
Jesus what is like it to know that some will turn away?
Jesus what is like to have the world in your hands?
I am asking would you change my heart to make it more like yours please?
Jesus I am hurting, so deep but I know you understand
Jesus what led to my divorce?
Jesus what led to me to finally see the world?
Jesus what does my healing look like?
Jesus will I ever be the man you created?
Jesus will I ever be enough to be called your son?
Jesus I know you have these answers and you hold my heart.

Will I ever see the answers on this side of eternity or do you want me to wait?
Will I ever trust you to answer according to your promises to me?
Will I ever be content being where I am, doing what you’ve called me to do?
Will I ever say thank you for giving me the pain?
Will I ever say that I was once the leper?
Will I ever remember that I was the man who was blind and now can see?

Will you help me remember, that I am your child?
Will you help me remember, that I am loved?
Will you help me remember, that I am cherished?
Will you help me remember, that you died for me?
Will you help me remember, that you will provide?
Will you help me remember, that you are the healer?
Will you help me remember, that you are my redeemer?

I am yours
You are mine
I am your child
You are my loving Father
You speak life over me
You speak truth louder than my lies
Won’t open up my eyes?
