We have all been knocked off the horse
We all struggle when we feel alone
Sometimes we feel we’re slipping and falling apart
Got to bottle it all up, because no one could ever understand
We tend to forget that there is beauty in our pain
We gloss over the fact we’ve been through hell and back
We don’t want to express it, because who would want to hear
Music is that bridge for me, to connect with other people
Sometimes I feel shut out, because people don’t have time to listen
Sometimes I shut myself down, because of how my day is going
Other times when I write, I remember that this life is worth the fight
Falling off my high horse as a reminder that we are all on life’s journeys
When life slugs you in the gut, it can set you back a while
It can make you think that your life is just a mirage, in the grand plan
We all have times, things that make us feel like we are unworthy
Will you choose to get back up and let others dust you off
