A savior’s ransom

Like a ship lost at sea, looking for land
Like a thief looking for something in all the secret places
Was my heart, looking for a life boat
Was my soul, searching for something that would fill the void

A sinner whose soul demanded a Savior’s ransom
A fraud trying to be real, a ransom of my Savior on Calvary
Bought with the blood, to pay the price to make me white
With each nail that pierced his hands, and the sword in his side

The only sacrifice that was sufficient, to pay a sinners penalty
The only life that was guiltless, to make my heart pure
There was no other way to bring this world peace
Then to die on the cross, to cleanse the world

A savior’s ransom was needed
A sinner bought by the blood
A savior’s ransom was paid
A tomb where the body laid

Guards tried to guard it
The stone that hid the body
The ransom paid, a pure and spotless bride
The day evil was overcome
