Are you too busy?

I wrote this poem as I was listening to Ellie Holcomb and the song
“MINE”.

I often wonder, if you are too busy to listen Lord
I often think to myself that it was you and not me that couldn’t take the time
When I try to talk to you, I often don’t know exactly what to say
Is that because I am trying to figure life out things my own way

Are you too busy to remember me your child
Are you too busy to answer my cries for help and my pleas
I think I am the one that needs to remember that it’s okay to slow life down
Everything has a reason and it seems that I am a little scared to ask you to hold me

Am I too busy, has this life become to important and allowed me to forget to rest
Hold me in your arms, even when I fall asleep I know you’re singing your mercy song to me
Sometimes this life gets really noisy, I forget to listen and try to blame you for not caring
Sometimes this life wears on my heart, each day takes an emotional toll on my soul

You are never too busy to talk to me
You are never too busy to walk with me
You are never too busy to hold me
You are never to busy to watch over my heart
