Written for my friend Hannah who is one of the strongest girls I have ever met. I am writing this poem/story/song to encourage her heart.
I don’t know how to explain the difficult situations that you’re facing/sitting on the edge of your bed/trying to put the pieces of life together/looking out the window/wondering if you will ever see the light again/through the tears that you’ve cried/wondering how this world could ever be so cruel/trying to hold back emotions/because you just want to be okay again/
Sitting on the porch/not able to put to words/the pain in your precious heart/wondering if at the end of the storm/you will see a rainbow at the end/a reminder that there is a God who loves you/sometimes sitting in the silence/seems there is a river flowing/the one who is holding you/is begging you to come home/lay in the arms of the Savior/trying to talk/but unable to find the words/
Our God is greater/than your fears could ever be/Our God sees you and is with you in your struggle/wondering if you will ever be happy again/Our God has promised to be with you dearest/It won’t be easy, but my God will be with you/and when you have nothing left/and He will pick you up and carry you/Cast your burdens upon the one/who is with you in the storm/

I know it’s hard babe/I never wanted you to suffer/I know it’s difficult to see sometimes/look at the family I have given you my love/My heart breaks when I see you struggling/I will never forget about you my child/Let me hold the pain that you’re feeling/let me calm the storms raging inside your mind/I am more than willing/to hold you if you want to rest my child/

Why did you let this happen/why is my life so hard/why are there more questions than answers/more pain that seems it is too much for me/will you come to my rescue/even when I’m having trouble breathing/when I cry to you do you really hear me/do you even care that my heart is hurting/sometimes I can’t see clearly/the purpose of the pain I am feeling/Do you see me struggling/do you see me/when there are no more words or tears/
God to us
I will always listen/I will always be there/I can always see you my precious child/when you fall asleep I will protect you/When you can’t feel me/I am still there holding you up/over the rushing waters/I will not let go/If you will trust that I love you/and trust that I have a plan/I have already you redeemed you child/My blood has forever made you white/the guilt and shame were crucified on the cross/along with the feelings of how you are unworthy/you are worthy of my love my child/
