Written as I was in Michigan looking at the water.
As I was lookin’ at the waves beat against the shore/couldn’t stop thinkin’ what was on the other side/water everywhere around me/blue as far as my eyes could see/impossible to comprehend what lies ahead/it’s a beautiful thing to try/come step out into the unknown with me/take my hand/I wouldn’t let you slip/
We could sit on the beach/watchin’ the sunset with the sand between our toes/telling each other stories of how our lives have been/I didn’t know it at the time/but there is a special space for you babe/it’s a feeling that’s been missing/trying to trust my Jesus/when my life changes course/
Sitting in the moonlight/your head against my chest/looking at the stars/pointing out various constellations/just the two of us/sitting there together/listening to the waves/laughing with each other/life can sometimes get us down/but I am hoping it can be different/this time around/because we’ve got each other/
The ocean can reach/my heart can’t quite understand/it’s exciting thinking about the future/but also a little scary/thinking about the possibilities/that stand ahead of us/but this time we are going to make it/because we got each other/there are a lot of storms/awaiting us together/but we can always remember/that Jesus put us together/
