Road trip

Written after my trip home from vacation to Michigan.

Let’s go on an adventure/let’s take a journey/we don’t need to know where to/at least we’ll be together/let’s fill up the gas tank/and grab some snacks for the trip/lets remember our chargers/because we may be in the middle of nowhere/hard to imagine there are roads to almost anywhere/we would choose to go/

Call it a road trip/call it whatever you want/contemplate the opportunities/when it’s time to move on/will we be together/when we don’t know where/the road less traveled will take us/sometimes/we don’t have a clue/when we have arrived/where the river ends/will it be something to remember/

Look over there/I see a waterfall/I see a rainbow/over the horizon/every day a reminder/our journey is just beginning/look at the river/is it clear/can you see the bottom/can you grasp the hope/we have because we’ve got each other/when we are together/it seems like nothing else matters/

Hold my hand/as we count the miles/looking at the mountains/traveling through life’s valleys side by side/it won’t be easy to see where we’re going/but I know it will be better because we have got each other/to keep us company when we’re out of range of the stereo/let’s take it slow and know we’re better than we started/
