To think

Saw someone at Wal-mart for the first time in 7 years. Not a kind song, but one of self control. Didn’t say anything at the time.

You looked at my track record…was it what you wanted to see…when the race was over…the outcome you expected…when your integrity was tested…the numbers should’ve been even…but you did everything to tilt the table…so that the chips were stacked against me…

To think I saw a future…to think I was in the wrong…to say that things shouldn’t have ended the way they did…what nerve you must have…because you got on everyone of mine…tried to hide behind the kind deeds to you used to lure me in…suddenly disappeared when everything was laid bare…

To think you ever loved me…to think you had the capacity to care…when I was trying to care…you turned your back on me…where was the compassion…that you were given…where was the warmth that I extended…when I tried to help and you answered my questions with silence…

Could’ve been more informed…but I can see both sides…the naivety that you showed…when your life was on the line…is your track record adding up correctly…when we compared what we had learned…we looked at the numbers…and they didn’t add up…
