EMOTION : CHEATED
We’ve heard it before that it isn’t you it’s me
We’ve let it be the norm, not trying to offend
It took me a while to realize it was you not me that wasn’t right
It seemed like every word I spoke would end up in a fight
It was a hard road, but I thought it would get better
As I did everything I could to make me stronger
I pulled my weight and yours, but it was too overwhelming
I tried for a while to carry you on my shoulders but the weight crushed me
If it isn’t me then who is the culprit of stealing away my joy
If it isn’t me it’s you, that made me feel cheated out of love
When we try to place the blame I know I am not perfect
But I no longer have to play your foolish games
I never knew which person I would wake up next to
One full of life, or one who didn’t want to live
I gave you my all, you took everything and were content for me to take the fall
At times I feel cheated, but I know that I will only get stronger as time goes on
